A monochrome blue wound glass bead of any undefined era. Similar glass beads have been produced since the early Iron Age to post medieaval periods.  The bead displays signs of wear on the sides suggesting it was worn with other beads or similar on cordage as the central perferation is worn on two sides. The bead appears to have been produced by winding molten glass around a mandrel or iron rod over a small furnace. The bead is slightly uneven suggesting a variation in the heat when produced, which is characteristic of hand made glass beads. A complete annular blue glass bead dating from the Iron Age to early Medieval period c. 100 BC to AD 750 The glass contains small bubbles which is consistant with a handmade wound beads produced over a small furnace and wound on an iron mandrel. The perforation has been worn on one side suggesting the bead may have been worn on a cord or chain for a period of time. An Iron Age or Roman (c.300 BC-AD 410) wound translucent cobalt blue annular glass bead, with three eye decorations. Two of the eye decorations are of white glass with a central dot of yellow paste, and the third eye decoration is missing the central yellow dot as a result of the white glass separating from it or of subsequent damage. A small dark blue wound spherical glass bead with an off central perforation. The bead is slightly miss-shaped, due to the bead being held too long in heat during the manufacturing process. The bead would have been formed on an iron mandrel or rod, by melting glass until it flowed onto a rotated rod to form a disc. The bead is 10.8 mm in diameter, 7.5 mm in height with a the central perforation that varies from 2.8 mm to 3 mm in diameter, suggesting that the iron rod that it was made on was tapered. Glass cobalt blue bead, circular in plan and oval in profile and section with a large offset circular hole. One side of the bead is thicker, in height, than the other by about 0.5 mm. There is a slight spur on the edge of one side of the perforation, suggesting that the glass has been rolled on a central rod, and pulled off while still hot. Irregular beads made of this dark blue glass have been found in Iron Age, Roman and Post-Roman contexts.
