Fragment of late Iron Age copper-alloy D-shaped terret, now very corroded but perhaps originally enamelled. It has a sub-circular or slightly oval upright collar terminal 13.7mm wide, 12.1mm tall and 4.8mm thick. From one side of this projects a triangular-section upper ring, with a flat inner and an angled outer. On the other side of the collar, at its base, is a stub of the attachment bar which shows that this was rectangular-section, 6.5 x 3.4mm, and set vertically. An incomplete copper alloy transverse wing terret dating to the Iron Age (c.100 cal BC - AD 100). About one third of the ring survives. The surviving fragment is made up of a circular cross sectioned bar bent into a curve that would have originally being circular or D-shaped in Plan. There are two surviving prominent mouldings, one placed just after a break, another at the apex of the surviving curve and traces of a moulding at the second transverse break. A copper alloy bridle bit, possibly dating to the late Iron Age to the Roman period (circa 100BC to 200AD). The object consists of two bars placed parallel with a central moulded collar which has been worn and thus less prominent. On each end of the bit, one bar has broken off and the other continues a short distance, curving slightly outwards before also ending in a break. A copper alloy ingot. It is basically rectangular in shape but with rounded ends and a waisted centre. It is flat on the bottom and domed on the top. The base has a series of vertical lines moulded into it which may be a relic of the moulding process. Section of a copper alloy knobbed terret ring of probable later Iron Age or early Roman dating. It would be D shaped in plan when complete, what survives here is part of the base and a section of one side. The base is sub-rectangular in section, and is divided by a circular collar protruding from the ring, which has suffered some damage on one side. This has a central line moulded into it. An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch (Colchester one-piece) of Iron Age to Roman date (AD 25-60). Description: The bow is broadly triangular in plan, curved in profile, and oval in cross-section which tapers to a pointed foot. The head has two short wings, now mostly stubs. The head has a broken forward hook, which would have held the missing external chord and a projecting stub from the back of the head which would have extended into a one-piece spring and pin.
