A complete Iron Age base silver unit of the Western Region / Dobunni Eisu Oxo type dating to the period c.20-43 AD. Obverse: possibly head right, pellet in ring for eye, pellets in arcs behind. Reverse: triple tailed annulate horse left, pellet and [EI?] above, pellet [and SV] below. See Rudd (2010: 106) no. ABC 2081.  Overall dimensions: 10.1mm in dimaeter, 1.7mm in thickness and 0.49g in weight.

The coin is an Iron Age stater, 'EISV' type. However the coin is probably a contemporary copy due to the condition of the metal which is of poor quality, has a pitted surface and two tones in colour as if it is plated or has a wash. If the coin were made purely of gold, these features would not be so striking. Additionally the weight of the coin, 4.04g is similar to the weight of other contemporariy copied coins described in Hobbs (Hobbs, R. 1996 British Iron Age Coins in the British Museum British Museum Press), for example No. 3028 which weighs 4.73g.
