A fragment of a copper-alloy late Iron Age brooch of a possible Kragenfibel rosette type (Mackreth, 2011, pg 28). It is very corroded, making typogology difficult. The wing shape suggests a coil spring, although missing, and the bow seems to have a seperate plate, which is mostly corroded away. It is decorated with longnitudinal lines. The reverse is flat, with a small D shaped bow. It appears similar to examples in Mackreth, 2011, pg 19, plate 16, 5799, 5807, 13755 Length: 28.86mm Width: 18.57mm Weight: 5.80g

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Langton Down (Mackreth C1) bow brooch of Late Iron Age or early Roman date, c. 25-60 AD. It is missing its foot, catchplate, spring and pin, though otherwise it survives intact.
