A thick copper alloy coin, dished reverse but flat and worn obverse. Damaged. Probably a contemporary copy of a gold stater, some similarities to Catuvellauni/Trinovantian types but no close parallel identified in Van Arsdell or Hobbs. Oval flan 15.5mm x 18mm.
Philip de Jersey comments:
We have records of three other examples of this type. It appears to be a very base gold stater which accompanies one of the silver early pattern/horse types of the Iceni (VA 679).
The first example, apparently from Norfolk, was published by Simon Bean in Spink's Numismatic Circular for October …

Very corroded and abraded bronze coin; although not dished the strong relief suggests an Iron Age bronze unit rather than a 3rd - 4th century Roman coin

A very worn and corroded dished coin with a high relief ?horse reverse but insufficient surviving detail to identify the type. There is a 1mm hole fairly near to the edge, but it is not regular and the metal is extremely thin in this area so it could be damage rather than deliberate piercing. Probably a Trinovantian type.

Small rather thick coin (diam 11.5mm, thickness varying c.1.8 to 2.5mm), slightly dished and almost certainly Iron Age. Metal probably silver but discoloured. The reverse makes most sense as a horse to right, in the style of Icenian Pattern-Horse types with a double mane and simplified body but the obverse has a couple of high relief spots which make no sense as an Iceni design. Perhaps heat damaged?

Extremely corroded but the convex obverse face and flat or slightly concave reverse suggest an Iron Age unit, probably Trinovantian, eg middle or late Cunobelin.

Corroded, worn and damaged surfaces, especially the obverse which is completely illegible. The rev suggests an Icenian unit, either Face-Horse of Pattern-Horse type.
