A rim fragment of a Late Iron Age or early Roman black coarseware flanged bowl. A fine soapy fabric with regular inclusions which protrude through the smoothed/burnished surface. It is not black burnished ware. Inclusions: black stone to 3mm, white stones to 2mm, orange (possible grog) to 1mm.

A fragment from the rim of a coarse flint-tempered vessel, probably a large storage jar or cooking pot and of late Iron Age (or possibly later) date. The fabric is reduced dark grey with light brown oxidised patches on the interior surface and tempered with abundant and poorly sorted coarse sand, flint and calcined flint inclusions.

A copper-alloy escutcheon (handle attachment) from the rim of an Iron Age vessel, c. 100 BC - AD 43. The object has a curved and convex sub rectangular plate with deeply moulded decoration in the form of transverse ridges with flanking semi-circular knops at the centre. The reverse of the object has a single circular attachment loop.

A Late Iron Age (300 BC - AD 100) rim sherd from a coarseware jar, C-shaped in profile with a beaded rim. It has numerous small-, medium- and large-sized flint inclusions and mica. The fabric is dark brown/ grey in colour and with burnishing to the outside surface which is 'soapy' to touch. The sherd measures 69.7 x 49.5 x 12.3mm and weighs 47.26g. Its estimated original rim diameter is c.180mm.

A Late Iron Age (300 BC - AD 100) neck sherd from a coarseware jar, C-shaped in profile with numerous small- and medium-sized flint inclusions. The fabric is relatively hard-fired, dark brown/ grey in colour and with burnishing to the outside surface which is 'soapy' to touch. The sherd is a rough quadrilateral in form with old breaks and measures 51.9 x 44.0x13.2mm, weighing 35.06g.

A Late Iron Age/ Early Roman body sherd and rim sherd. Both fragments are fully oxidised and appear an orange colour to the exterior surface, with a darker orange to the interior. The fabric of both sherds is sandy and includes small particles of mica and displays some small circular voids, possibly from organic matter, as well as very large irregular flint temper. This flint temper appears unsorted and large fragments protrude from both surfaces and in the section.
The rim sherd has a beaded rim and is from a large storage jar. It measures 59.6mm in length, with a width of 46.4mm. …

Six sherds of Iron Age earthenware, representing part of two different pots, herewith called Pot 1 and Pot 2. Two of the sherds from Pot 2 join.
Pot 1 : Two body sherds (69.55x60.78x10.34mm and 55.10x36.39x11.09mm) and one rim sherd with lattice decoration (60.78x32.17x9.08mm), collectively weighing 87g.

A group of three small body sherds from vessel that are probably Late Iron Age/Roman in date, possibly medieval. They have a mid-grey fabric fine-coarse flint (c. 10%), well sorted, temper. A rim sherd from a later Iron Age coarseware jar dating from approximately 300 BC - AD 100. The jar has a slightly outward turned rim with a flat top and rounded outer edge. Below the short rim the body curved outwards at c.45 degrees. Not enough of the rim remains to estimate the diameter as it is slightly irregular but it indicates a large vessel. The relatively hard fired fabric is only slightly scratched by a finger nail and has a mid-brown core and a dark-brown to black surface with burnishing on the outer side and rim. A trio of abraded small body sherds with flint inclusions from a vessel of probable Early Iron Age date, possibly Late Bronze Age. One of the fragments has abundant inclusions ranging from fine to medium forming up to 30% of the fabric. The other fragments have finer inclusions covering only up to 15%. All the pieces are oxidised with a pale-orange colour; the sherd with the more abundant flint inclusions (L.: 25.75mm) has a greyer core and inner surface.

The abraded base from a pottery vessel of probable Late Iron Age date. The base is now sub-circular and very shallowly convex. Walls continue for up to 12.6mm beyond the solid base which is up to c. 20.0mm thick. The walls begin to flare out slightly, the object having narrowed to a diameter of c. 40.0mm from the base. The fabric is quite a fine one that has largely oxidised a dull orange colour.

A rim sherd from a bead-rim jar of Late Iron Age to Roman date. The sherd has an irregular shape. It has a rounded body below the small rim. The rim has a very shallow curvature suggesting a large vessel. The sandy fabric has some flint inclusions, less than 5%, fairly poorly sorted. The outer surface has a black burnished appearance while below the surface the clay is browner with occasional red tinges.
