A complete copper-alloy object of uncertain function probably dating to the Iron Age. The object is broadly cylindrical in shape and hollow, with a circular opening either end. Each end of the cylinder is slightly flared. A short circular-sectioned knop extends from the upper edge of the cylinder approximately half way along to top edge, beneath which is a single horizontal transverse groove on one side and a circular perforation on the other side. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Iron Age La Tene III style (Nauheim derivative) brooch dating to the first century BC to AD. The brooch is made from a single piece off copper-alloy consisting of the hinge, bow and part of the catch plate. At one end this is twisted to form a bilateral spring of four turns and an internal chord. This extends to the circular cross-sectioned bow and, beneath this, a flattened sub-trapezoidal shaped catch plate that is damaged along the outside edge. The pin is missing. An incomplete cast copper-alloy mount dating from the Late Iron Age to Roman period (c. 300 BC to AD 410). The mount is flat and crescent- or pelta-shaped with inward curving, tapering terminals either side - the terminals are uneven in size but both are broken at the end. An incomplete Late Iron Age copper-alloy brooch of Boss-on-Bow type (La Tene D2) dating to the first century BC. At the head of the brooch is a fragment of the circular-section wire which would originally have formed the integral spring mechanism. This extends to a slightly arched, leaf-shaped bow.
