Cast copper alloy cheek piece from a bridle, form resembles an elongated hammer head, rectangular central part through which is a 27 x 8mm slot. Each side of the central bar the section narrows and is circular. The terminals are expanded and mushroom like. The object is undecorated. Length 91.0mm, Central section 15 x 18 x 35mm, Terminals 16.5mm diameter, Mass 83.15g. See McGregor 1976, Nos. 42, 45.

The object is formed of two copper-alloy hoops joined by a short, biconcave bar. One of the hoops is incomplete, appearing to be broken. The broken hoop extends into the bar. The bar terminates in a ridge where it meets the complete hoop. Fragment of a mirror handle or possibly of a horse bit.
