An uninscribed Iron Age stater of the Southern (Atrebates) region (50-20BC). This is a gold plated contemporary copy of Van Arsdell type 212.03 and is similar to Hobbs No. 446, although an exact parallel could not be found. On the obverse circa 60% of the plating survives, while on the reverse 90% survives.
The stater measures 16.49mm diameter, 2.85mm thick and weighs 2.7gms.
