A complete cast copper alloy toggle or strape slide, dating from the Late Iron Age to Roman period. The toggle is broadly cylindrical in shape with swollen centre and with with discoidal terminals, one either side. The terminals are broadly flat and extend over the main body of the cylinder with a lip. In the middle of the swollen centre is a rectangular aperture, which measures 6.35mm long by 3mm wide. A large number of similar objects have already been recorded onto the PAS database, including SOM-484F4F, GLO-E0E5F3, HESH-EDB833 and NMS-213C35. HESH-EDB833 references examples…

A complete cast copper alloy toggle dating from the Late Iron Age to Early Roman period (c. 100 BC-AD 100). The main body is dumbbell-shaped and broadly circular in cross-section. There is a moulded groove beneath the loop, while scored grooves around the ends of the dumbbell are the only other decoration. The sub-triangular attachment loop extends from the centre of the dumbbell and curves up and backwards. A cast copper alloy toggle dating from the late Iron Age to early Roman period (c. 300 BC - c. AD 100). The toggle is symmetrical in form and shaped broadly like a dumb-bell, having a central rounded body that expands slightly from an incised girth-line outwards towards a circular terminal at each end, which again has a circumferential groove before it.
