The mount consists of a hollow semi-cylindrical rectangle with slightly thickened terminals and a fine transverse ridge at each terminal on the convex exterior. The frame is an asymmetrical pointed-oval in section, and crescentic in plan. The complete terminal has a bulbous knop and the other is a break, but not a recent one. An Iron Age-Roman glass bead, dating 800BC - AD100. Approximately half of the bead remains, the breaks appear to be recent damage. The bead was circular with a circular perforation measuring 8.66mm diameter. It is made from dark blue glass with white spirals on the exterior surface which are flush with the surface of the bead and not forming a nodule which can occur on other examples.
