A copper alloy Colchester One-Piece brooch: The wings are formed by a horizontal rectangular band which is abraded and undecorated. On the reverse of the wings, integral to the upper edge is a sub-rectangular protrusion which is folded upwards and towards the front face of the bow, forming a hook. The lower edge of the wings has a fragment of the integral spring, which is now a fragment of a coil. The break of the coil is not too recent. Late Iron Age to Roman copper alloy bead. The bead is cylindrical with a central oval section flanked by waisted sections to each side ending in collars at each terminal. The bead measures 16.55mm in length, 7.21mm in diameter and weighs 2g. Several similar beads are recorded on the database including SOM-370A52, SF-660114, SOM-16C4A7, WAW-12FD13 and NMS-CE3502. It probably dates to the late Iron Age to Roman 1st century BC to 2nd century AD date.
