A late Iron Age or Roman copper alloy Rosette or thistle brooch. The headplate comprises a rolled cylinder containing the remains of a copper alloy spring. The wings are incomplete. The bow is short, arched, and decorated with ribs on the exterior. A thin backplate of copper alloy sits behind the bow and extends below to form foot. The foot is worn, but appears to have been decorated with a moulded circle or oval. The remains of a catchplate is visible on the reverse. The rosette or thistle brooch was in use during the middle decades of the 1st century AD in Britain, between c.AD 20-60.

The reverse depicts a horse galloping right, above which is a large wreath of pellets (only six pellets are visible). Similar to ABC 1830/1833.

Treasure reference 2017 T1054: a pellet of molten gold. The pellet is an irregular oval sphere. One side is smooth and rounded, while the other is more irregular. This may suggest that the gold had been poured into a pellet mould, such as those known for the production of coins in the late Iron Age. The weight of the globule is 5.4g, which equates to the mass of a typical late Iron Age gold stater. An incomplete copper alloy brooch dating to the late Iron Age. The brooch is a simple one-piece brooch made, as the name suggests, from one piece of copper alloy. The head is formed by four loops and an internal chord; the pin is missing. The bow expands forwards from the central chord at the base of the head. This is oval in section and leads to a swollen oval boss with a narrow collar above and below.
