Complete copper alloy La Tene II brooch. The brooch is made from a single piece of copper alloy wire, twisted around to form a complete brooch. Apart from some damage at the catchplate and the pin tip, the brooch is in perfect condition. Starting at the pin, the wire is straight until it curves over to form one half of the spring, which has three turns to it. The wire then passes as an external chord over the spring and then continues the spring at the other side of the head, having four turns to it. The entire spiring therefore has seven turns.
