A fragment of a cast copper alloy artefact, probably part of a bracelet of Iron Age date, 800 BC - AD 43. It consists of two hollow hemispheres connected by a short, solid neck of D shaped section. At the outer end of each hemisphere is a small stub of metal, both of which are broken and abraded, probably connections to adjacent hemispheres now broken away and missing. Description: A gold-alloy bracelet with loop terminals, Iron Age (c. 100 - 50 BC). The bracelet is comprised of two ropes plaited together, each rope is made up of two wires twisted together. Each terminal is formed of two loops. The outside surface of the terminals has been filled with a lower melting temperature gold-alloy containing approximately 16% more copper than the rest of the bracelet. Part of a copper alloy bracelet probably dating from the late Iron Age period (200 BC - 43AD). The bracelet would have been penannular. One terminal and some of the hoop survives. The terminal is D shaped in section. It is decorated with four wide grooves, each flaked with narrow collars and spaced out with thicker D shaped sectioned 'beads' between them. The rest of the bracelet is sub triangular in section, and undecorated. A close parallel has not been found, but the style seems similar to beaded bracelets and torcs of the late Iron Age period. A copper alloy possible penannular bracelet which is possibly Iron Age or Roman. The bracelet is not complete and perhaps almost half is missing. The bracelet is 52.8mm long, 31.9mm wide and 4.7mm thick, the main part of the bracelet being circular in section with a diameter of 4.7mm. Its maximum diameter is in the middle of the bracelet near the break, and it tapers towards the other end before widening again just before the terminal.
