A copper alloy ring, perhaps part of a harness fitting, of probable Iron Age or Early Roman date, about 300 BC - AD 200. The ring appears to be complete. It is circular in plan and lozenge shaped in cross-section, leaving the central aperture as hour-glass shaped. There is wear on the outer faces, and particularly so in one area. There is a partial smooth, well developed green patina, which survives better on the inside of the loop. The metal certainly looks to be prehistoric, but a Bronze Age date cannot be ruled out.
