Silver minim of the Southern Region / Regini and Atrebates, struck for Caratacus, c. AD 40-43. Obverse: CAR with ringed pellet above and below. Reverse: Boar's head right, with (C?)V below. This coin is not published in ABC, but is of similar type to a piece of Epaticcus (ABC 1370). Given the similarity between coins of Epaticcus and Caratacus (eg. ABC 1346 and 1376), this coin could be predicted. The most logical explanation for CV on the reverse is that it stands for Cunobelinus.

Reverse: Triple-tailed horse right; wheel and two ringlets above; wreath to left. An exact match for this coin has not yet been made.
