A fragment from a cast copper-alloy knobbed bracelet (bangle or armlet) probably dating from the late Hallstatt period to the late Iron Age (c. 800 BC - 43 AD). The bracelet consists of a curved rod formed of four globular 'beads' or knops (c. 6.3mm thick) with rounded ridged collars (c. 4.65mm thick). Two of the collars have two ridges, the last extant collar has three. One ridge from a collar survives at either end before the old breaks. The rod is sub-circular in cross section. The reverse is plain and flat at its centre; it bevels towards the sides. The bracelet appears to have a high tin content, there are mid-green patches of corrosion product and pitting on the beads and lower surface.
A parallel can be found illustrated in Cunliffe (1998, 61; ref. 53); cf. also SUSS-26A497 on this database

An incomplete copper-alloy pin of Middle Iron Age date, decorated in 'plastic style'. The pin has a large knobbed head, consisting of a spherical head with a slightly flattened base with multiple motif decoration. The main body of the head is broadly circular in plan and D shaped in cross section with multiple knops, projections and grooves. It is 17.15mm long and 16.95mm wide). On opposite faces are two broadly D shaped raised sections that join forming an oval raised platforms which due to the contours of the head appear to be higher at either end (12.25mm long, 2.9mm maximum height). The lower D shaped raised section curves in upon itself to form the base for a cylindrical knop (3.0mm high) with a circular projection at the tip. The tip of the top D shaped raised section on one face and the bottom of the lower D shaped raised section of the lower face expand into the adjacent face of the pin head to form the base for a further two cylindrical knops with circular projections at the top. At the top of the pin head are two incised vertical grooves that run from one side of the pin head to the other separating the two raised oval platforms. The areas of the pin head which do not have raised platforms or incisions have been decorated with extremely fine circular punches. The pin head is damaged in places and areas of decoration are missing. At the base of the pin head is a circular band which connects to a concave cylindrical projection before expanding for form a raised collar (6.9mm wide) which connects to the incomplete shaft. The incomplete shaft is circular in cross section (max 3.5mm thick) and is 41.25mm in length due to an old break.
The pin is damaged and corroded in places. The head has a mid grey patina, suggesting a higher tin content and the shaft has a mid green patina.
