~~Copper alloy Colchester one piece brooch with the spring cast integrally with the bow, the spring is made from five curls, the pin is complete. There is a rearwards facing hook on the top of the head which holds the external cord of the spring. Small tabs/wing project either side of the head to protect the spring. The bow is plain and tapers to the foot, the catch plate is now truncated buy would have been decorated with a series of openwork panels. Date 25-60AD

A copper alloy ring of probably Iron Age to Roman date (c. 300 BC - AD 100). The ring is circular in cross-section. It is decorated by a finely executed double wavy line within a recessed band that rind around the circumference of the ring. The inner surface of the ring is smooth and in places shows signs of wear which may indicate where is has rubbed on a strap. Rings of this type are generally believed to have been harness or strap fittings, however, they may have a variety of uses. An incomplete La Tene III brooch that has a steeply arch bow surmounted by an integral loop and pin, (both of which are now truncated). The bow is circular cross-section, gently tapering to the foot, the rear of which mounts the openwork catchplate. The artefact is undecorated except for four transverse and flanged ridges on the forward edge below the bow/immediately above the catchplate.

A copper-alloy fob, probably dating to the first century AD, although the date range of such objects is a subject of some debate. The fob is a three armed triskele design that has a triangular centre panel the corners of which are extended to form three narrow radiating arms that curve backwards and down to join with the previous arm, thereby creating an oval loop. An Iron Age copper alloy La Tene I brooch, dating to c 400-200 BC. The brooch is nearly complete, although the pin and some of the spring are missing. The brooch has a deeply C-shaped bow which is thicker towards the middle where it forms a broad flat panel that has two vertical groves running down its length. La Tene III European 'Knotenfibeln' or 'Boss-on-Bow' type derivative brooch. This has a right angled bow and a straight leg which is oval in cross-section, the integral spring on the back of the head is made from four curls with the complete but distorted pin projecting downwards.
