Iron linch pin (Group III vase headed), 110mm in length, with decorated, cast terminals of copper alloy. The terminals are 49mm apart, set at each end of a slightly bent, tapering, square-sectioned iron shank, 11 to 9mm across. A horizontal perforation, 5mm in diameter occurs at the base of the upper terminal but this is now largely blocked by iron corrosion. The top of the 21mm diameter upper terminal is decorated by raised motifs comprising (?), with two areas of basketry hatching (Celtic art Style V) executed in the wax before casting. Crescent shaped harness fitting with two lobed projection (one lobe missing) on the central, inner edge, of crescent. The central part of the crescent has a incised circle divided into four quadrants, of which two have surviving white enamel. There are smaller incised crescent designs on each arm of the main crescent and a triangular moulding just to the right of the central circle (in the protruding part of the mount, to the left of the lobed projection). The surviving lobe is sub-oval, decorated with a circle inside.
