Record ID: KENT2320
Object type: POT
Broad period: IRON AGE
County: Medway
Workflow stage: Published
Native copy of a Gaulish butt-beaker. Twenty three sherds, representing most of the vessel. Hand made; crudely finished and roulette decorated. The fabric is quite coarsely sandy and other inclusions are visible. The surface is principally orange-brown, but patchily grey, suggesting a bonefire kiln. Probably locally made.
