Cast copper-alloy strap union dating from the late Iron Age to early Roman period, c. 100 BC to AD 100. The item is formed of a central vertical row of three openwork circles, all 'D' shaped in section. From the circles at either end of the row emerge circular shaped tabs. These are perpendicular to the face of the openwork circles, and there are four in total; two on the upper circle, emerging on opposite sides, and two on the lower. Iron Age cast copper-alloy strap fitting dating to c. 70-50BC. The fitting is circular in plan and slightly pointed oval in section. The diameter of the main loop is 34.7mm, with an inner diameter of 18.5mm. Protruding from the loop is a cylindrical shaft of approx 7.0mm thickness on top of which and perpendicular to this is a circular stud with a diameter of 16.8mm.
