A cast worn copper alloy and iron vase-headed linch pin terminal of late Iron Age to Roman date (c.400 BC - AD100). Description: The terminal has a flattened disc-shaped head with worn edges to give it a now rather misshapen appearance. Below the terminal is a short neck which has been protected by the terminal above and vase-shaped body below. Thus the neck patina is a very shiny and smooth blue-green in colour. The vase-shaped body is roughly two-thirds of a sphere. It has a circular perforation through one side to the other which would pin the terminal to the iron pin. There is a c…

A gold unidentified object, possibly a fragment of a torc or bracelet, of probable Iron Age date (c. 150-50 BC). Description: The object is comprised of two wires, sub-circular in cross-section, twisted together. The wires are roughly and irregularly facetted along their length, suggesting they were forged out from a square section rod before being hammered into a more circular cross-section. In many places, hammer marks and striations are visible. Both ends show signs of having been chiselled, suggesting that the original object was deliberately broken up. The fragment itself is…
