A complete cast Iron Age copper-alloy probable strap fitting, dating to c. 100BC-100AD.
Description: The object is made up of a triangular frame with integral irregularly sized sub-spherical knops at each corner. The arms of the frame have a flattened oval cross section. The frame and knops are heavily patinated a mottled light green colour and are slightly pitted.
Measurements: 19.68mm wide, 20mm long, 8.37mm thick at the largest knop (frame 3.73mm thick) and 5.57g in weight.
