A gold unidentified object, possibly a fragment of a torc or bracelet, of probable Iron Age date (c. 150-50 BC).
Description: The object is comprised of two wires, sub-circular in cross-section, twisted together. The wires are roughly and irregularly facetted along their length, suggesting they were forged out from a square section rod before being hammered into a more circular cross-section. In many places, hammer marks and striations are visible. Both ends show signs of having been chiselled, suggesting that the original object was deliberately broken up. The fragment itself is…
