A struck copper-alloy Iron Age unit of the Ambiani (Gaul), probably dating to the period c.60-25 BC. Obverse: A large duck(?) facing left, pellets in the field. An incomplete copper-alloy La Tene 1 type bow brooch dating to the 4th-3rd centuries BC. Description: The brooch remains only as the bow, which is convex at the front and flat at the rear, meaning it is D-Shaped in cross section. A fragment of probable Iron age torc. Description: A short length of thick gold alloy wire, which gently curves towards one end. It has been cut at both ends using a chisel or similar implement. The surface shows evidence of hammering and a few light scratches. Measurements: length: 16.4mm diameter: 3.2mm weight: 2.15g Discussion: The wire is facetted in places, suggesting it was hammered out from a square-section piece to achieve a rounder cross-section.
