A worn fragment of a cast copper-alloy Late Iron Age Langton Down, Nertomarus brooch dating to the first century AD, c.AD 10-20
Description: The fragment represents the centre of the head of the brooch and part of the bow. The head flares out slightly and the worn nubs of spring lug remains barely visible in its base, the wings and spring are entirely missing. The bow is high and angularly arched at almost a right angle and ovoid in cross-section. An incomplete copper-alloy late Iron Age Nauheim derivative (La Tene III) brooch dating to AD 25-100.
Discussion: The brooch is incomplete as the catch plate and the pin are missing with the bow also being bent. At the head end there is a spring made up of three coils but is incomplete and may have had as many as five coils, due to the incomplete nature of the spring the pin is missing as is a possible internal coil. A worn Late Iron Age (c. 125-110BC) potin cast bronze unit of the Cantiaci. Flat Linear type Holman type A2/2-1a, Van Ardell 102-1, ABC 144.
Obverse: Outline head right, with defined hair, no central pellet. Reverse: outline curved bull butitng horns right. Casting sprue appears to have been intnetionally cleaned and coin is quite thin. Coin resembles ABC165, but does not have central bust pellet.
Measurements: 18.17mm in diameter, 2.43mm thick and 2.19g in weight.

A complete cast copper-alloy Iron Age looped toggle or element of a similarly dated fastener, dating from the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD.
Description: The toggle is cast in one piece with a circular-sectioned bar axis bar slightly arched towards the smaller bar end. At either end of the axis bar is another bar set perpendicular. these parts are similarly sized to the main axis bar. On has two disc shaped terminals at each end of the bar creating a 'hammerhead' affect. The toggle is patinated a dark green colour with some light verdis gris patches.
