A copper-alloy La Tène III type brooch dating from the 1st Century BC- 1st century AD (Hattatt 1987, 22). The brooch consists of a thin bow roughly ovoid in section which turns a near righ end down toward the spring. The spring/pin, which would orignally have been an integral continutation of the bow coiled around on itself has been broken off halfway through the second coil. An incomplete Iron Age copper-alloy La Tene I, box type brooch, (c. 400 BC-c. 200 BC). The spring, pin, catchplate and part of the foot are missing. The bow is convex at the front and rear. Both the front and rear of the bow have three longitudinal facets running its overall length. Description: The brooch remains only as the bow, which is convex at the front and flat at the rear, meaning it is D-Shaped in cross section. Description:It has a cylindrical-section head, formed by wide encompassing wing within in which the copper-alloy spring mechanism is preserved.
