An incomplete copper alloy Iron Age (AD c.10-c.100) La Tène III Nauheim derivative brooch, missing the tip of the foot, most of the curl of the catchplate and the pin which has broken off at the spring. A complete Iron Age or Roman (200 BC - AD 200) copper alloy bow brooch (possible knee variant) with hinge mechanism, missing the curl of the catchplate. The brooch measures 57.75mm in length and weighs 9.94grams. The tubular wingspan is 9.20mm. The axis bar is visible at each end of the wing. To the reverse is a slot which holds the pin, the pin has been bent inwards roughly three quarters along its length. An incomplete copper alloy Late Iron Age early Roman (AD c.25-c.60) Colchester one-piece brooch, missing its pin, spring and catchplate. Overall, the brooch measures 60mm long and 14mm wide. The head consists of two rectangular wings and the stump of a loop at the top, which would have held the sring in place. The bow is circular in cross-section and tapers in width from 3mm below the wings to a point at the foot. It projects forwards from between the wings and then curves downwards towards the foot.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman (AD c.25-100) strip brooch, missing its pin and bent out of shape. Overall, the brooch measures 54mm long and 10mm wide. The brooch is formed from a thin strip of copper alloy which tapers in width from 10mm at the head to 4mm at the foot. The brooch is decorated with a pair of converging longitudinal grooves. The catchplate is broadly rectangular and projects from the rear of the foot.

The brooch is circular/oval in section throughout (excluding the catchplate). It is narrow at the head and tail (c.2.5mm wide) and swells to 8mm wide at the centre of the bow. Only one turn of the integral spring survives. Also the upturned part of the foot, which often contains an inlay, is missing. An incomplete Late Iron Age-early Roman copper alloy Alesia-Aucissa variant strip bow brooch dating to the first quarter of the 1st century AD. The head appears to have been rolled under and the incomplete bow is 23.15mm in length and tapers away from the wings from 7.75mm to 4.50mm. It is rectangular in cross section, is 1.25mm thick throughout and is gently curved. The front has two vertical lines of punched decoration. It is missiing its spring, catchplate, one of its wings and the lower part of the bow.

An incomplete copper-alloy Iron Age/Early Roman Langton Down brooch dating to the period AD c.25-60. The brooch is missing its pin, spring and catch plate along with as much as half its length. The semi-tubular wings, originally holding the spring, are also damaged. The bow of the brooch is bent at a forty-five degree angle and tapers towards the break. There are several grooves running lengthwise along the front. In cross section the bow is a stretched D shape. c.f. Hattatt Fig 165, nos. 39, 269, 770 and 769.
