A gold Iron Age stater of the North Eastern region / Corieltavi, dating to the period c. 45 - c. 10 BC, Kite type. Obverse: Wreath and crescents, four spoked wheel in place of cloak. Reverse: Lunate horse left, with multiple ears, four armed spiral anti-clockwise below, diamond (kite) shape above containing three pellets. Similar to ABC, p. 93, no. 1761 and BMC (Hobbs), nos. 3181-3184, but illustrated examples show four pellets within the kite; cf. Van Arsdell 825-8.

An incomplete copper alloy Early Iron Age socketed axehead (c.800-600BC), missing part of its rim and suffering damage to its cutting edge. The axehead has an almost square socket mouth, a rectangular cross-section and three ribs terminating in pellets on each face. It is therefore a Type Sompting, Variant Cardiff II axe, belonging to the Llyn Fawr metalwork assemblage. The axehead also has a semi circular loop near the socket rim on one side. A stone Iron Age 'pillar stone' or stele dating to the fourth to first centuries BC. The pillar stone is broadly square in cross-section with slightly rounded corners. It tapers slightly towards its rounded top. The bottom surface of the pillar stone is covered with rectangular grids of small holes. The top half/third of the side faces are decorated with a continuous but irregular pattern of horizontal grooves, occasionally broken with a vertical groove or terminating altogether. An incomplete stone head, probably dating to the late-Iron Age to early-Roman period (c.100 BC-AD c.100), but possibly 19th century. It is missing fragments from its sides. The head has some features which are common on Iron Age heads. These include the lentoid eyes, triangular nose and flat face with a blank expression on it. The head has a bushy but short beard and mosutache. Also notable are the 'radiates' around the top and sides of the face which may represent brushed back hair. A gold Iron Age North Eastern quarter-stater ('Lindsey Scyphate' type) of the Corieltavi dating to the period c. 60-30 BC. Cf. BMC, p. 175, nos 3187-3189; cf. ABC, p. 93, nos 1770 and 1773. The coin is only 0.5mm thick but has a noticeably concavo-convex flan. Eleanor Ghey (Research Assistant at the British Museum) comments: "This Iron Age gold coin is of a type known as a "scyphate stater" (from its dished shape).
