Broad period: IRON AGE
County: East Riding of Yorkshire

A complete lead weight of uncertain date. The object is sub-cuboid with rounded edges and a domed top and base. A narrow perforation is present running through the object from the op to the bottom. Two of the opposing faces are decorated with cross hatching while the other two appear undecorated. The metal is a light brownish-white colour. The object is 14.1mm long, 12.4mm wide, 11.2mm thick and weighs 13g. This object may have served as a gaming piece instead of a weight though the addition of a perforation for suspension supports the latter theory.
