Ring of unknown function dating to Iron Age to Medieval period (c. 350 BC- AD c. 1500). The copper alloy ring is sub-circular in section with a sub-oval section. On pone portion of the ring there is severe wear which has caused the ring to narrow in depth and width. The opposite edge, on the interior, also shows signs of wear by the interior edge being slightly pointed. The surface of the ring has a well developed dark green patina. The ring measures 20.8mm long, 20.85mm wide, 5.2mm thick and weighs 4.6g. The date of the ring is based primarily on the surface condition. As to funct…
