A copper-alloy anthropomorphic mount probably used as a sword pommel of late Iron Age to early-Roman date. This object weighs 15.13g, is in the shape of a human head, and has a sub-oval shape with concave underside, the chin projecting down and being the lowest point on the object. The face has an oval shape with rounded chin, rectangular nose measuring length 6.1mm, width 2.2mm and projecting forwards to a maximum of 1.8mm from the face at the tip of the nose. The mouth is formed from a relatively shallow horizontal groove of 3.9mm length that has just a hint of a possible smile. …
