A copper alloy strap fitting. A slightly irregular ring of copper alloy (probably leaded bronze), possibly used as a junction ring on straps or harness. The ring has a circular cross section which is variable in diameter, possibly as a result of use wear. There are areas of pitting in the surface of the ring, but is is also possible that some of these depressions are decoration, particularly those along the outer edge of the ring.
