Part of an unidentified copper-alloy object, probably dating from the mid to late Iron Age. The head of the piece comprises a moulded cross, with each arm and the central area being hemispherical. Behind this cross is a rounded loop; from beneath the cross projects the remains of a curved shaft of oval cross section.

An enamelled copper alloy probably Iron Age object possibly a toggle fastening. The object consists of a short probably hollow cylinder, closed at one end. From this springs a solid extension that is D-shaped in section. The outer surface of this is divided into two diamonds and six triangles, these are filled with red enamel. It is presumed that the empty cells held another colour that was less robust. No parallel for this object has yet been found.

An incomplete cast copper alloy object. Two oval segments, each have a concave reverse and are D-shaped in section, are connected by a short narrow bar. The object is broken at the bar projecting from the opposite end of either segment, one of which project 90degrees from the rest of the object. The exact function of this object is unclear. The 90degree projection suggests that the complete object may have been rectangular in plan. A form of buckle or harness fitting is therfore a probable function. The light green, slightly pitted patina suggests a possible Iron Age date.

A Late Iron Age copper-alloy ?pommel/chape (300BC - AD100). The object is bulbous, with a waisted centre, rising up to two points. The surface is decorated with incised lines rising from the base up to the two points. The waisted section is plain and undecorated. The inside of the object is hollow with a small raised lug centrally positioned. There is an even, dark green patina. Stuart Needham identified similar objects in the Salisbury hoard that are more or less contemporary with the deposition rather than one of the many Bronze Age objects in that hoard. JD Hill agrees with a Late …

A cast copper-alloy fragment of probable Iron Age or Roman date. Trapezoidal in shape and rectangular (with rounded corners) in section, this object has a slight curve in profile. It features two parallel edges, worn, possibly broken, and an edge perpendicular to these. The other edge opposite the latter tapers in from a width of 17.1mm to an extant width of 14.4mm. A pair of grooves run longitudinally along the obverse face. The three ridges duly created along the centre and both edges all have a medial linear incision. The reverse has a light, off-white band running longitudina…
