Fragment of a possible Late Hallstatt Iron Age brooch, very corroded hollow-backed oval bow with most of surface missing, traces of recessed flange around oval boss with longitudinal incised line (or lines?), damaged sides and broken at both ends with stump of narrowed projection at one end and stump of oval-sectioned projection on reverse at other end. Perhaps related to Hull and Hawkes (1987) Type L, Plate 22, examples from Mortlake 3560 and Woodeaton 7039. 5th-4th century BC.

This is an atypical form, most toggles either having a transverse aperture in the head or a loop springing directly from the head, and in view of this the object would perhaps be better described as a button-and-loop fastener. 1st century BC/AD.

Total length 39mm. Diameter of strands at narrow end circa 2.5mm, diameter at the thicker end circa 3.5 - 4mm. Weight 7.5g. An Iron Age bow brooch, with the foot and catchplate missing. The plain wings are apparently complete, and it has a very broad hollow-backed bow with a median groove. On the reverse of the head, there is a horizontal lug for a hinged pin. This aperture is now filled with iron, similar to that of Hattatt no.1444. This example may be ascribed to Hawkes and Hull 1987 Group L. The surviving piece measures 33mm in length, with a wingspan of 18mm. The width of the bow is 14mm. The form of the bow suggests a date in the 6th-3rd century BC.

Less than half of the ring of a 'lipped' Iron Age terret. The broken attachment bar projects from the extant end collar. The lips comprise a triple transverse moulding, the two outer parts of which project slightly beyond the central rib and the ring, with only a slight inward swelling. A hoof-shaped foot from a linch pin with the embedded remains of the end of an iron pin. A circular depression, asymmetrically placed on the underside of the hoof is decorated with three curving engraved lines that have left a triangular concave-sided space in the centre. The motif is the same as that on a linch pin foot from Wymondham (HER 37333) Length 45mm. Maximum diameter 18.5mm. Diameter of decorated underside 20mm. 1st century BC/AD.

An incomplete La Téne 1 type brooch. With an oval sectioned bow, now straight, and broken shortly after the start of the narrowed and curved neck at the top. The foot has a side extension forming the catch-plate which is now broken or worn, before narrowing and curving back on itself to terminate in a stylized animal head consisting of a disc with a snout. A very unusual continental brooch, incomplete, possibly a Knickfibel (angle-brooch) type. Has an oval-sectioned bow and leg, a straight cut upper end with a projecting integral rivet, the head is missing, has a sharply angled bend above a transverse slightly convex-sided rib, tapering to a point at foot. There is an openwork triangular catch-plate on the reverse with twin transverse lines on the outer face at the base. Measures 5mm x >61mm. Cf. Hattatt (1987) no.754. First half of the 1st century AD.

Incomplete probable razor with straight cutting edge. The curving rear edge has been filed into a series of notches and projections. There is a suggestion that the widest point is extant as the rear edge begins to taper before the break. A fragment of an unusual, possibly Continental, brooch.
