An Iron Age silver of the East Anglian/Iceni region, 'Odin's Eye' type, dating to circa 20 BC-10 AD. Obverse: Head right, herringbone hair, large oval eye, another eye in front of mouth. Reverse: Horse right, double upper front legs, large open head, pellet in ring or pellet triad to either side of wheel with tail above, pellet in ring. As ABC 1537.

This group comprises fifteen Iron Age coins and twenty-three Roman coins. All of the Iron Age coins belong to the East Anglian regional series which is usually associated with the Iceni, a people thought to have inhabited modern Norfolk and parts of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire in the century or so before the Roman conquest. 18 silver Iron Age coins, all silver units of the Iceni. Found scattered over a small area, one (no. 15 in the catalogue) found some 70m from the main body has clearly travelled due to agricultural action. They clearly represent a scattered hoard which went into the ground together in the late Iron Age or early Roman period. Often these hoards are associated with the Boudiccan revolt of AD60.

Description: A gilded silver one-piece brooch dating to the Late Iron Age or Roman Conquest period. The brooch is slightly bent and is missing its spring and pin. The catch plate is bent over, is 17mm long and has a single simple perforation. The strip shaped bow is divided into three zones running lengthwise; both outer zones are gilded, leaving the silver from which the brooch is made exposed in the centre zone. The wings of the brooch over the missing spring are also divided into zones, with the innermost zones both gilded.
