Possibly burnt and deformed or miscast fragment of a Late Iron Age to Roman enamelled copper-alloy terret. It consists of a short length of the curved loop terminating in an ancient break at one end and an expanded oval collar followed immediately by another ancient break at the other. The loop is broadly triangular in cross-section, being pointed at the external edge with a flat internal face. At least, that part of the internal face closest to the collar is flat. At the opposite end it becomes lumpy and amorphous. The other two faces each contain one complete and on…

Fragment of late Iron Age copper-alloy D-shaped terret, now very corroded but perhaps originally enamelled. It has a sub-circular or slightly oval upright collar terminal 13.7mm wide, 12.1mm tall and 4.8mm thick. From one side of this projects a triangular-section upper ring, with a flat inner and an angled outer. On the other side of the collar, at its base, is a stub of the attachment bar which shows that this was rectangular-section, 6.5 x 3.4mm, and set vertically. The overall length is 21.0mm and it weighs 7.34g. All surfaces of the fragment, including the breaks,&…

Incomplete Iron Age bow brooch, the pin and almost all of the catchplate missing, the lowest extent part of the flat-sectioned bow distorted. The chord of the four-coil spring (now in two pieces, a recent break) is external, i.e it transverses in front of the coils. A knurled median groove extends down the bow from the start of the spring to a pair of transverse grooves immediately baove the catchplate. Extant length 44mm. The spring arrangement is the same as that of Hattatt 2000, fig. 148, no 732, a La Tène II brooch, while the form of the bow is typical of La Tène III. 1st century BC.

The find consists of a single Iron Age twisted multi-strand style torc with ring terminals similar to others found in Norfolk over the last 60 years.  The torc has an internal diameter of approximately 20 cm.  It is made of predominantly gold and silver. It is made from four strands of wires twisted around each other two and a half times. Each of the 4 strands is made from 6 wires (c. 3 mm thick).  The strands are alternately twisted one clockwise and the next counter clockwise.  The strands were cast on to the terminals.  Evidence for this is clearly visible …
