The intial find of a ceramic vessel containing silver coins was made by a farmer ploughing more deeply than usual in March 1954. R. Rainbird Clarke subsequently excavated the site in July 1954 and in March 1955 and recovered fragments of the pot and more coins. De Jersey (2015) provides a detailed account of Snettisham hoards B and C were initially discovered by a tractor driver on 13 and 14 November 1948 (Clarke 1954, 28). "After being left on the field for about a week the finds were collected, at which point parts of the two hoards unfortunately became mixed. The twelve coins from hoard B, however, were not discovered until the excavation which was directed by Clarke in December 1948." Possibly buried with hoard C in a box or boxes, the torcs may have been associated with B or C.

De Jersey (2015) discusses the evidence for an Iron Age silver hoard found at Easton, based on a mention by Chester (1855, 312) and an OS map reference from 1849. He notes that there has been confusion in the recordwith a late Roman hoard (Robertson 2000, 279 no. 1172) and the Weston Longeville hoard, but that the latter has a separate map reference, suggesting the existence of two hoards, something accepted by Chadburn (2006, hoard 3).
