Late Iron Age to Roman copper alloy Langton Down brooch, probably of Mackreth's (2011) Type 2.b, dating to the period c. AD 25 - 60. The wings are incomplete. They would have originally formed a cylindrical hood to house the missing spring and axis bar. The bow is divided from the spring case by a crescentic cross-moulding. The bow tapers from the head and terminates in an old break. It exhibits reeded longitudinal moulding. The lower, bow, foot and catchplate are missing.
