A fragment of copper alloy bow brooch dating to the 1st to 2nd century AD. The lower part of the bow only. It is flat and rectangular in shape, slightly curving. It is decorated with an incised groove positioned centrally along its length, either side, along the margins of the bow are a series of incised semi-circular grooves. The spring is filled with iron corrosion product, probably from an iron axis bar. The pin is missing. A one-piece brooch which consists of a circular cross sectioned wire forming a spring of whic two coils remain.
