Two rim sherds from 1st century AD large, round barrel shaped storage jars or bowls. The rims are variously described as 'flat topped' beaded rims (Sunter & Woodward, 1986, 87)or 'flattened, tapering, triangular' rims (Seager Smith, 1993, 231). The fabrics are orange in colour with buff-orange to grey core and coarse and sandy in texture. They are similar to Gussage All Saints fabric type C, thought to originate in the Wareham/Poole Harbor region in the 1st Century AD (Wainwright, 1979, 50). Fragment of a possible hinged copper-alloy bracelet, brooch or other item of personal adornment of Roman date. This is a tapering, D-sectioned, cast fragment with a narrowed, pierced tang at the wider/proximal end. It is broken at the distal end. The object is curved with a convex front. A copper alloy penanular brooch wth pin missing. Bent into shape from a single piece of faceted copper with terminals bent straight outwards, and with rounded knobs at the end, each containing an incised line around their circumference. Hattatt's type B2. The ring has an accentuated thickness away from the terminals and a trapezoidal cross section. 38.55mm diameter and 5.48mm maximum thickness of ring, the terminals are 14.08mm and 13.72mm long.
