The terminal is 'buffer' or 'thistle-head' shaped with an expanded circular end with slightly irregular outline and a concave outer face, behind this end is a constrction then an expansion into a large, slightly angular bead, 16.0mm in diameter, then a second constriction then an expansion in the form of a narrower rounded collar 10.3mm in diameter. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Colchester one-piece brooch of early Roman date. The surviving part of the brooch measures 33.4mm by 11.4mm by 13.3mm and weighs 2.6g. It comprises the crossbar (one side of which is damaged), the rearward hook which kept the incomplete chord in place, the curving bow and about half of the spring. The bow is plain and tapers to a point. Very little of the catchplate survives.

Half of a silvered cast copper alloy miniature snaffle bit of probable late Iron Age to early Roman date. The miniature bit measures 35.4mm by 27.8mm by 6.6mm and weighs 4.8g. A cast copper alloy Birdlip brooch of late Iron Age date. The brooch measures 54.2mm in length and weighs 12.4g. The integral sprung pin has broken off the oval upper bow. Part way down the bow there is a moulded transverse projecting disc and below this a further moulded projection which curves upwards and narrows to bluntly pointed terminal.
