Cast copper alloy La Tène I brooch. A large one piece bow brooch. At the head is the spring of coiled wire and its external chord. This was drawn from the main body of the brooch. Below this the brooch expands into D-sectioned arching bow, dropping to a tapered foot with a hooked catchplate to the right side. Beyond this the foot continues into a backward hooked tail with a knopped "snake-head" terminal. There are cast decorative ridges on the tail before the expanded terminal. Late Iron Age or Roman penannular brooch. The pin is missing and the brooch is slightly bent out of shape. The circular sectioned wire brooch is undecorated apart from at the terminals. The terminals are expanded, with sub-oval flat ends, and with c. seven closely-spaced bands of faint incised lines behind. A damaged and incomplete Late Iron Age/Early Roman cast copper-alloy strip bow brooch. The brooch is broadly triangular in form. The head is the widest point (11.2mm) and features a central removal (pin slot) and slight protrusion on one side; it is broken on the other. Below this the brooch is 9.0mm wide and tapers gradually down the length of the brooch to less than 3mm at the catch-plate end.
