A cast copper alloy knobbed terret. A D-shaped terret with a narrowed and attachment bar. The bar has a rectangular cross section. The body of the terret oval sectioned at the bar and tapers, changing to a D-section opposite the bar. The terret is decorated with three large integral semi-circular projections, one either side of the bar and one in the centre of the outer edge. The two projections on either side are flanked by incised grooves in pairs and have and have two incised grooves around thier outer edges. A single base metal Iron Age coin was found in October 2012 during the production of the television programme "Hoard Hunters" (an ITV studios production for the History Channel). The coin was recovered with the use of a metal-detector at a site thought by the finder to be that of an earlier find of Iron Age coins declared Treasure in 2004 (Treasure number 2004 T347). The coin is an uninscribed British Iron Age gold stater of the South Western series (attributed to the Durotrigian). The coin was produced in the Hampshire/Dorset/Wiltshire area in about 80-60 BC. It is of the "British B" or "Chute" type: ABC 746 (Cottam et al, Ancient British Coinage 2010, p. 57; see also Van Arsdell 1989, no 1205).
