An incomplete copper alloy one-piece brooch. A La Tène III/Nauheim derivative type. The brooch is twisted and bent out of shape. At the head is the integral spring comprising two sets of two coils. The ones on the left side of the head are still in situ. Together with the chord, the right hand coils have been pulled over to the left and one coil unwound completely. The bow is D-sectioned and of a tapering leaf-shape. The end of the bow extends into a very narrow foot which is flattened out into the remnant of the catchplate. An incomplete cast copper alloy pin. The shaft is circular in cross section and tapers to the break point (from 3.12 mm to 2.49 mm) The head is disc shaped and has a concentric ridge framing a groove around a central domed projection. Below the head is a narrow ridge or collar around the shaft. Dr Kevin Leahy has suggested an Iron Age date for this pin.

This coin has been registered on the CCI as 08.6282
This is an are early uninscribed Iron Age gold coins of a type known as British B or 'Chute' type staters. Coins of this type were produced in the Dorset-Wiltshire-Isle of Wight area in around 80-60 BC. During the late Iron Age this area is thought to have been inhabited by a people known as the Durotriges.

This coins is an early uninscribed Iron Age gold coin of a type known as British B or 'Chute' type staters. Coins of this type were produced in the Dorset-Wiltshire-Isle of Wight area in around 80-60 BC. During the late Iron Age this area is thought to have been inhabited by a people known as the Durotriges.
