A worn but complete cast copper-alloy strap junction dating to the period. It comprises three conjoined loops arranged in a triangular shape.Set centrally between the two upper loops and above the bottom loop is a highly stylised, elongated human head. The head is convex with hollow reverse and crudely rendered,with a brow and nose ridge, slight indentations for the eyes and a small line for the mouth. An incomplete copper alloy bow brooch. A Colchester one-piece type. The bow, wings and one coil of the integral pin only remaining. At the head are two small, flat wings. Drawn from the rear of the head is the coil of the integral sprung pin mechanism. Also extending from the rear of the centre of the head is a tapered forward hook which probably housed the missing chord of the pin mechanism. An incomplete copper-alloy Iron Age to Roman Colchester one-piece brooch dating to the period AD 25-60. The brooch is missing the spring mechanism, the ends of the wings, the pin and most of the catchplate. The head of the brooch consists of two wings, both of which are damaged. From the centre of the wings a folded element curves backwards to create a loop above the head which would have held the spring, now missing. An incomplete Iron Age La Tene I brooch, probably dating to c. 400-200 BC. The surviving brooch comprises of the bow and partial spring, with the foot, pin and part of the spring all missing. At the head of the brooch is an integral spring coiled around a copper alloy axis bar, a fragment of which survives in situ. Two left coils of the spring survive, with the chord, any further coils and pin all missing. The head of the brooch survives to a width of 7.4mm, the coils being 8.2mm in diameter. Silver uninscribed South-Western quarter stater of Duro Boat Bird type, minted by the Durotriges tribe (Rudd, 2010, p.112, no.2208) dating from c.58 BC onwards. The obverse design is 'three men in a boat', The reverse design is a stylised zig-zag thunderbolt with a Y-shaped object on either side of it and two other indeterminate shapes, but the one to the right is referred to as a bird by Van Arsdell (see below).
