Copper alloy terminal from an Iron Age torc (neck ring). The terminal is 'buffer' or 'thistle-head' shaped with an expanded circular end with slightly irregular outline and a concave outer face, behind this end is a constrction then an expansion into a large, slightly angular bead, 16.0mm in diameter, then a second constriction then an expansion in the form of a narrower rounded collar 10.3mm in diameter. A simple undecorated ring, circular in plan and oval in cross section, with a slightly off-centre circular perforation 6.2mm in diameter. Dimensions: diameter 15.7mm; thickness 4.5mm; weight 3.65g. An Iron Age La Tene I type brooch dating to the period c.400 - 200BC. The head consists of an integrally cast spring with two loops remaining ending in an old break. The pin is missing. The bow arches steeply upwards from the head and expands from a width of 3.84mm to 5.59mm. There is a central groove along the obverse of the bow and traces of other decoration which are indistinct due to wear. A copper alloy ring of probably Iro Age to Roman date (c. 300 BC - AD 100). The ring is circular in cross-section. It is decorated by a finely executed raised wavy line within a recessed median band. The inner surface of the band is smooth and shows signs of wear whcih may indicate where is has rubbed on a strap. The ring has a smooth dark green patina with large areas of pitting which are light green and slightly powdery.
