1 sherd of patchily oxidised (red) and reduced (dark grey) Black Burnished ware type pottery of Late Iron Age or Early Roman date. The sherd is a moderately abraded rim sherd from a large, thick-walled, storage jar. The fabric is coarse with poorly sorted, abundant rounded quartz sand temper (up to 5 mm). The rim is heavy, flattened and triangular sectioned. It is slightly inturned and has an external bead. 3 sherds of black burnished ware pottery. Very dark grey, soft fabric with sand temper. The exterior is burnished and there is evidence of a slip on the interior in that a thin cream band is visible below a the very dark grey to black surface. Possibly Poole/Wareham fabric 1b. Two conjoining sherds and one other from open bowls with a small bead rim. (type 13 bowl). This type generally dates from the 1st century Ad in Dorset.

Two rim sherds from 1st century AD large, round barrel shaped storage jars or bowls. The rims are variously described as 'flat topped' beaded rims (Sunter & Woodward, 1986, 87)or 'flattened, tapering, triangular' rims (Seager Smith, 1993, 231). The fabrics are orange in colour with buff-orange to grey core and coarse and sandy in texture. They are similar to Gussage All Saints fabric type C, thought to originate in the Wareham/Poole Harbor region in the 1st Century AD (Wainwright, 1979, 50).
