A copper alloy Roman Provincial coin of Diadumenian (AD 217-8) , minted in Byzantium, Thrace. Obverse, cuirassed bust of emperor right with Greek inscription, ΔΙΑΔΟVΜΕΝΙΑΝΟC Κ, transliterated as DIADOUMENIANOS C. Reverse, a bunch of grapes hanging, ΒΥΖΑΝΤΙΩΝ surrounding. Ref. SNG Copenhagan Thrace cf. 517 (reverse for coin of Caracalla). This coin is apparently unpublished in any major catalogue, but one piece was found in the Sacred Spring at Bath (Walker 1988, p. 320 and pl. XXXIX no. 8).
